ICJ decides on preliminary measures in Genocide Case against Israel

On 26 January 2024, the ICJ handed down an order on preliminary measures, finding that it did have prima facie jurisdiction to hear the case submitted by South Africa against Israel under the Gencoide Act, and requiring Israel to take preliminary measures to refrain from committing acts of genocide in Palestine.
